LOOSE CHANGE
Loose Change Programme
Loose change is something that you have in your wallet or your car, that you put towards something you want. It's small but it still holds value and opportunity. ’Loose’ meaning not firmly or tightly fixed in place, which represents those a little rough around the edges, who may have not been taught or given all the tools to help navigate through life.
Loose Change is a training programme that uses sport as both an expressive outlet and a tool to teach rangatahi self-discipline, structure, and positive habits as well as promoting the importance of physical and mental well-being. Loose change teaches rangatahi to create positive and long-lasting change in their lives.
During the programme, rangatahi focus on strength, cardio, clean eating, the importance of recovery, stretching and body maintenance. Rangatahi commit to training programmes in their own time, we include field sessions and they also get a basic meal plan pointing them in the right area of what and how they should be eating.
This programme is offered to rangatahi in Te Tairāwhiti participating on Nōna Te Ao schools programmes and participates in events with Ngāti Porou Rugby League.
